Before entering the Załuski Library, the manuscript belonged to Prince Ivan Fedorovich Baryatinsky (1689-1738) - Governor-General of Moscow in 1735, and since 1736 - the ruler of the Little Russia (now Ukraine). After the death of the manuscript's owner, it may have been acquired in the territory of the Little Russia by the Załuski Brothors' agent for their library.

The manuscript is written on parchment in the 12th century, without decoration, with marginal notes of the 13th century. The copy is incomplete: the beginning of the text (the first quire) and the binding have been lost.
